Rescue Me ID: 15-02-24-00108Sasha (female)

Siamese Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Leukemia (FeLV)

Sasha is the absolute perfect cat! She's gorgeous, super friendly, playful, and likes to chat without being too vocal. She purrs when pet or held and is just total sweetness. Unfortunately she tested positive for the feline leukemia virus so she needs to be the only cat in the home or live with other Felv positve kitties. Right now she is healthy and happy. She's also fully vetted. Feline leukemia will most likely shorten her life, but she has a lot of love to give for however long she's here. Some feluk positve cats live very long lives while others only live for a few years before succoming to the virus. It's hard to place feline leukemia ... (Read More)positive kitties, but we really hope Sasha's home is out there somewhere. She deserves only the best! We would also consider a foster situation for her. Please email if interested in fostering or adopting Sasha. She's available through a licensed non-profit rescue group. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-02-24-00050Peekaboo (female)

Siamese Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Cats
Personality: Average Energy
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Peekaboo has not had an easy life so far. She was surrendered to animal control by her owners who stated she was afraid of their dog and always hiding. They also said she bit them going into the carrier. She was impounded as a biter which was pretty much a death sentence for her. When we were at the shelter, we found out that she was in the euthanasia room and begged to be able to take her with us. We were allowed to do so and found that she was not only terrified but very sick. She has since be treated for an upper respiratory infection and is healthy now. She continues to need help building her confidence and trust back. She enjoys human ... (Read More)affection and would do best in a quiet home. She was adopted and returned to us because she did not like the overbearing cat in the home. We also learned she prefers women to men. She made progress socially and was getting braver, but problems with the other cat necessitated her return. She coexists with other cats now, but doesn't like 'in your face' type cats. She is looking for an adopter who is willing to continue working on her sociability. She is six years old, front paw declawed, spayed, and up to date on vaccines. (Less)

The first British Siamese were given to the English ambassador to Siam (Thailand) as a gift. Some Siamese can live to be over 20 years old. The voice of the Siamese has been likened to that of an infant; the sound is called Meezer, which is also a nickname for the Siamese. Siamese are one of the oldest domesticated cat breeds.
