My husband and I have twin babies and are unable to take care of Valentino anymore. He deserves more love and attention that we have unintentionally been denying him. He is 10 years old, Seal-Point Siamese, neutered, not declawed (we keep the nails trimmed), playful, and loving. He needs to go ASAP to a loving home with no children. He does not deal with hyper and loud individuals.

Rescue Me ID: 15-03-29-00426Mochi (male)

Siamese Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Male Cats Only, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Mochi is a fun-loving, inquisitive dude. He loves to play and has become more and more affectionate over the years! He loves bags (as you can see), boxes, exploring, climbing, and playing with feathers on a stick. How is he with: Other pets? When I've taken him to my parents house (2 female cate, 1 male cat, one average size dog) he was very interested in the other pets but was a little aggressive with the smaller female cat. He didn't bother the larger male cat. The other female cat was able to stand her ground. He liked our mild mannered dog but she mostly ignored him. Other humans? He likes people and is not afraid of new company. He ... (Read More)can get 'bitey' and probably wouldn't do well around young children. If he doesn't know you well, you probably won't be able to just go up and put him. He likes being touched on his own terms. Outdoors? I live in the city and he is only indoors. If you have a nice bit of land, he might like to explore, but I would be cautious. I only tried putting him on a leash once, so that might be an option with training. Eating? I feed him three times a day as he tends to scarf. He does throw up about 2-4x/mo. Haven't figured out a way to abolish this. Not a big fan of poultry. Litter box? Never once had a problem. Nail trimming? He had claws and you will have to be ok with that. I trim his claws 1x/mo, he doesn't like it, but I do one paw at a time and give treats as soon as I'm done. Scratching? He needs two or more sturdy scratching posts and may need training to ensure he uses them. He play scratches on my couch to get my attention (it does), but has never caused noticeable damage to anything. Playing? He loves chasing feathers, a feeder toy he rolls around. Like most Siamese he needs regular stimulation and interaction. Why am I look for a new home? I've had Mochi since he was a kitten and I love him, so I want him to have the best home possible. It causes me great pain that I find myself unable to provide it. I don't give him the attention and patience he deserves. I'm also considering moving soon and want to find the best situation for him before then. Ideally you would: understand how Siamese cats are a little different than regular cats, consistently play with and give affection to Mochi. You should be willing to give a reference, allow a home visit and pay a re-homing fee. If you would be interested, I can provide a litter box, scratching post, assorted toys, nail clippers. Mochi has a microchip, and I will have to get the information from the vet. If you've gotten through all that and you are interested, please email me. Thank you in advance. (Less)
