Rescue Me ID: 17-07-10-00120Lulu Belle (female)

Siamese    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Cats, Not Good w/ Dogs, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious, Incontinent

Lulu is a sweet, but highly anxious sable tipped purebred Siamese. She was adopted, along with her litter brother, as a kitten and has been part of our 4-person family since she was 3 months old. Over the last year, her dominant brother has caused her to become extremely anxious, to the point she will not use the litter box, although will use pads placed around the box. Since this is a relatively new condition, we believe her dislike of the litter box is due to her aggressive brother and her not feeling 'safe'. We have worked diligently on multiple litter boxes, placement, litter type etc., and while we had some intermittent success, she ... (Read More)returned to choosing to not use the box. We have recently taken her to the Dancing Cats veterinary clinic, which specializes in cats. We have run a full panel of liver, kidney, pancreas and intestinal tests. All came back negative suggesting we have a behavioral issue rather a health-related one. We believe that finding Lulu a quiet home in which she is the only pet will lower her stress level and that would then return to normal litter box practices. Again, she is a sweet, albeit timid cat, that is beautiful and once trusting, can be very affectionate. We hope to find Lulu a loving home in which she feels safe, comfortable and can return to normal cat box behavior. (Less)
