I had just bought a home and the previous owner left Smudge and Smoky in there. I would have taken them as my own but I already have too many obligations and was not able to give them the attention they deserve. I found the Rescue Me! page and posted their pictures. The next day I got an e-mail and five days later they were adopted by a lady who had just lost her 17 year old Siamese. Thank you, Rescue Me! You are a blessing for cats and people who care about them!

As someone involved in animal rescue, I want to thank Rescue Me! for providing a wonderful place to get the word out about pets for adoption. It is amazing how quickly great homes are found. We had several people interested in Beauty. Any of the potential owners would have been loving and take great care of this kitten. It was hard to decide who should adopt her. Beauty is a very lucky little girl.

My long time friend, Princess, found a wonderful home within a few weeks of posting on Rescue Me! Princess did not enjoy being in our home with the other pets. The couple that adopted her do not have any other Pets and Princess quickly loved them as well as the peace and quiet. Thank you Rescue Me! for helping me find Princess a wonderful home. If she couldn't be happy with our family, at least she's found new owners and the love that she deserves.

A good friend of mine told me about Rescue Me! I listed my friend's cats on there a few days ago whose owner had passed away. I had three immediate interested parties. I am pleased that the cats are going to a great forever home. This site made me feel like the people who take the time to look for a pet on here or put themselves on an alert when the breed they are looking for comes in -- that they are serious about being a responsible, forever pet mom or dad. Easy to use and highly recommended. Thank you!

Oh thank you, thank you, thank you, this is just wonderful. No cost to list this Siamese cat, and it was the best rescue I've done, and the easiest to help find a forever home. This cat was extremely abused and I paid to nurse her back to health, but then I had to find her a forever home on my own. I am not a rescue agency, just a person who loves animals and often finds the abused and abandoned animals in my area. Having Rescue Me! is a Godsend to animals needing homes, I can foster them, I can pay to heal them, I can feed and love them, but I can't keep them and don't have a list of people looking to adopt them. So I was very grateful and appreciative I found your site, that doesn't look for money, it just allows people like me to find someone to give an animal a forever home. Chu Chu found hers with lovely people, I know it was the perfect fit for her and now, at last, she will truly know what it is like to be loved and cared for by a wonderful woman who drove over 2 hours to get her from me. She was an angel. I know this person will love her and I couldn't be more pleased. Thank you, Patricia and friends, for taking her in and loving Chu Chu. Although this letting go is the hard part of my rescue, it is also the happy part knowing she will be loved, cared for and get the attention this poor abused animal deserves. Thanks to Rescue Me! and the people who showed interest. And now Patricia, her guardian and new mommy, can love her now and always.

Nutmeg was brought into a county shelter when her current owner could no longer keep her. She did not do well in a cage - spent most of her day facing the wall and hissed at strangers. Nutmeg did respond well to people she interacted with often, so we knew she would make a great companion in the right home. A kind lady in WA, who had recently lost her cat, spotted her on Rescue Me and stated that Nutmeg reminded her of a cat she used to have. After several emails, the lady decided this was the cat for her and met a shelter volunteer in Portland to pick up Nutmeg. She states that Nutmeg is settling in slowly, but well into her home!

I posted a plea for somebody to adopt our 6year old Lilac point Siamese ...as the dynamic in our home had irrevocably altered: after we had been away for a month visiting our daughter in the UK, our three siamese were fighting for dominance (the two boys against the girl, Lulu) where prior to our trip, we had enjoyed five years of domesticated bliss and harmony. The behaviour of all three changed and the resulting unprovoked spats with hissing and howling was causing a lot of stress and discord in our family. My husband suffers from type 1 Diabetes as well as an insidious form of MS called Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy ...both conditions are severely aggravated by stress ...and the behavioural issues with our cats was causing him a lot of distress. We spent six months trying out every remedy, potion and pill available on the market to try and re-establish the unity of our three siamese ...nothing worked. Our final frontier was the option to try and re-home the girl, Lulu, as she was the one that the boys ganged up on and because she fought back, there was no resolution to their struggle to establish a leader... It was this final 'make or break' situation which led me to place a request on this amazing site ...WOW!!! I had numerous responses from all over ....and the one which sealed the deal for me was a call from an ex-colleague ...we had worked in the same company over 25 years ago and had lost touch when I qualified and left ...being an avid aureophile, I was covinced that she would be the right person to give Lulu a new home ...and it was friends at first sight when she came to our home to meet Lulu. She was immediately happy to lie down and roll on her feet and rub against her ankles. This has been a very difficult and heartbreaking road for us, but, knowing that our darling girl is being loved and pampered in the manner to which she had become accustomed in our home, goes a long way to making it better and thereby a huge success. Thank you Jeff, you are definitely our 'knight in shining armour'...Lorraine & Bruce Curry, Durban, South Africa

Dear Jeff, I rescued Chink Chain from a family that did not know how to care for a new kitten and he was a mess to say the least. I knew I would not be able to keep him after fostering him for 8 weeks and needed to find a home for him. I do not remember how I came across your site, but thought, I can't lose by posting him. I received two calls, but one was from Miami and he needed to be placed near Jacksonville. The individual that will be looking at him and taking him to his forever home is delightful, and has stayed in touch until Chink is able to go home with them next week. Thank you for your efforts in animal rescue and especially cats. I will post on Rescue Me in the future. Sincerely, India

Thanks to Rescue Me our beautiful Siamese cats found a new forever home in just a few days. We were lucky enough to find a nice couple who understood our need to find my dads cats 'the perfect home'. So much so they offered to let us visit any time we wanted. With out sites like Rescue me unwanted cats would end up on the street or in local over crowded shelters. Or even worse euthanized. Thanks to Rescue Me loving cats like our beautiful Tank and Tucker are given second chances on life and love.

I had several calls and emails for this sweet kitten in a short time after posting her. She was dumped on my porch and I had no idea what I was going to do with her, but taking her to our local pound was not an option. I have worked for rescues before and understand that rescues are short staffed and very underfunded, but was unable to get a return call or an email with assistance for this kitten. This website allowed me to screen as best as I could for a good home and I think I found one. Should another critter find it's way to my home, I will definitely come here. Thank you for having this resource.

A few weeks ago, I posted a plea for someone to help a homeless Siamese cat that was living under a burned out house next door to us. The house was scheduled to be torn down, and this cat would have nowhere to go. Also, with winter coming on, I was concerned about her ability to survive. I'd been feeding her and trying to help her as much as I could. Due to certain circumstances, we were unable to take her in. I stumbled across the Rescue Me site when searching for a rescue organization. Even though I didn't have a picture of her to post, within a couple of hours, I was contacted by two different people about the kitty. One woman, who had lost her Siamese due to old age, saw the ad and felt she had to email me. Within a few days, the kitty, now named Die Kleinen (little one), is living happily with this wonderful woman and her dog who was missing his previous kitty friend. The cat and dog bonded immediately and are now best buds! Die Kleinen is happy, loved and safe, thanks to Rescue Me. Thank you. I will recommend Rescue Me to anyone who is searching for help for an animal in need.

Just two days after my posting to RescueMe.Org, The Most Very Precious (MVP for short) Baby Caesar was adopted by a wonderful couple for Pinellas Park. I knew from the moment I met Donna and Marc that they would be wonderful parents, and this was confirmed by the email that I just received from Baby Caesar that he loved his new home and was doing great. It was emotional hearing from Caesar because I have been missing him and hoping he was adjusting to his new home. An interesting aside, Caeasar was my girlfriend Donna's cat. Donna died last year from cancer and I inherited Caesar. I knew it was right when Donna and Marc adopted Caesar from Donna and Mark. Thanks to all who operate RescueMe.Org. You do a wonderful work for our beautiful animal friends.

Koko, our 13 year old Siamese female, was adopted by a loving family we met on this site. It was a very difficult decision to look for a new family for her, but I knew with our changing family (new baby and beagle) she was no longer happy with us. A couple with another Siamese the same age as Koko contacted us about having her join their family. Koko is in her new, beagle-free home and thriving! What a great site which allowed us to connect with one another:) Thanks Rescue Me!

Dancer, an almost 2 year old show-quality Siamese, has been adopted by a new family. Dancer had been unable to adjust to her previous home despite superhuman efforts by her owner family, and was urinating on bedding, clothes, and furnishings. The exasperated family was ready to ask their vet to euthanize her. Since I am the owner of Dancer's mother, and breed high quality Siamese, I put in the ad to see if I could find anyone willing to take on Dancer with her problems. I got one response, and that family arranged to adopt Dancer. So far, so good!

I cannot tell you how thankful I am for 'Rescue Me.' I was not at all sure of its legitimacy, but I felt comfortable putting my information on the site after looking at all of the links & posts and reading about its founder. I was in the position of having to find a home for my dad's siamese within 10 days or board the cat (I would have never put her down). Boarding would have been traumatic for this kitty as she has been very lonely while her owner has repeatedly spent weeks in a nursing home this year. I received 2 inquiries & within days I had met with and interviewed a wonderful woman who happens to be a former siamese breeder. Baby has been placed with her & her husband and their Lynx Point who looks almost exactly like her! I know that she will be well-cared for & I truly believe she will be the happiest she has ever been. Bless you for founding this site! & THANK YOU to all of the generous pet owners who have rescued animals on this site. Sharon in Seattle.

A couple weeks ago I posted a 4 year old Siamese cat for adoption. Within one hour of posting I received a phone call from Kathy Rice expressing interest. She sent me reference information including the contact details for her vet. When all was approved I drove out to their home and delivered Caoimhe (now called Precious) to her new family. The whole family was wonderful! The Grand daughters made me cards, Kathy knit me a beautiful baby blanket and her husband had already set up a room for Precious to get used to the house. Follow up contact revealed Precious now loves to sit in Grandpa's lap and be brushed while he watches sports on TV. This was a wonderful experience and I am overjoyed to know Precious is in a wonderful, loving and very cat friendly home! Thanks to RescueMe.Org for making it all possible! - Eileen

I just want to take a minute to tell you my story about Sophia. I rescued her 15 months ago as a kitten that was found at a friends house along with 3 other kittens & the mother. She has always been a 'by the book' Siamese. Sweet, loving, talkative, protective (of my teacup yorkie) and my family. She loved being outdoors as much as indoors and when I moved early this year she became an outdoor majority of time because of our lease. I found out a month ago that she would no longer be allowed to be outdoors, and was so sad because I knew she would need a new home. I had exhausted all ads, friends & relatives trying to find her a home. I had two offers from the ads but the people did not meet the standards I know Sophia needed. I place the ad with Rescue Me about 8:30 Aug 4, 2012. By 2pm I had a family that was interested and they also live in my area. We met and they Sophia won their hearts. Later that evening they came and picked her up and she was loving on them and purring before they left. Thank you for this sight...it was a lifesaver for Sophia & my heart!! Peni Durham

I am SO VERY happy that this website exists enabling people all over to not only find breeds they are looking for and to adopt adult animals in need of homes but to assist people who aren't able to care for their animals any longer for whatever reason, in finding happy homes for them rather than taking them to a shelter or worse.      Rescue Me was brought to my attention by the Siamese Rescue organization. I had contacted them about a six week old Tortie Siamese kitten that had been found. Everyone knows in my area I am the Meezer person. The kitten was brought to me. I have four rescue Siamese cats already [I should add I am down to four rescue meezers and I love everyone one of them], I decided not to keep this kitten, who I named Molly. While waiting for an opening for a foster home by the Siamese Rescue I put her up on Rescue Me. Kitten's I have learned are the most desirable. I had people emailing me within twelve hours of posting. Molly found a home within twenty-four hours. The people's Siamese of fifteen years had passed away and were looking for another Siamese. They gave me references which included their vet. They were more than willing to pay an adoption fee which helped toward Molly's vet bills. They were also willing to wait until Molly grew up a little more before taking her. She was so little, she could fit into a tea cup. Her new family will be picking her up on July 8th or 9th. Molly will be about 10 weeks old and hopefully a little bigger. The hardest thing in finding a home for a kitten is finding people who will be responsible. You just never really know. Most will tell you what they think you want to hear. I had some wonderful advice from the Siamese Rescue group in what questions to ask and what kind of feed back would give indication of a responsible home. My experience in using Rescue Me was very positive. The technical part was easy and I would definitely recommend Rescue Me to other people. It was a great source. I applaud all the people taking care of rescue dogs, cats, horses or any animal that has been abandoned.

Rescue Me! allowed me to find a loving home for my cat, Ming. It took approximately 2 months for Ming to find his new home. I did receive inquiries during that two month period, but nothing seemed like a good fit. Hang in there! If it doesn't feel right to you, don't let your pet be adopted. You will know when the right family comes along. Ming is an older cat, 9, and I thought it would be impossible for him to be adopted. I was wrong. A very loving woman and her husband adopted him. They are in their sixties and wanted a senior pet. She visited my home and got to know Ming and me for 1 1/2 hours. After that visit I was comfortable and knew Ming would be loved. She took him home that day. I did receive long-distance inquiries, but I wouldn't ship him, nor deliver him. I wanted to make sure that if the adoption didn't work out, the adopting family would be able to easily return him to me (one of the stipulations of the adoption). Be patient, this can work for you, but it may take time. There are many animals out there in need of new homes. If you are moving and can't take your pet, do not wait to post until the last month or last few weeks. Give it a few months. One last thing: be sure to post a photo. Ming's adoptive Mommy told me that she fell in love with his face and that is what prompted her to contact me. Good luck. I hope your pet/pets find a wonderful home like Ming did. I feel very fortunate.

We found a super sweet Siamese street cat on our vacation in Cozumel. He'd been neutered and we got him caught up on his shots because I was going to bring him home to keep but when we had him checked for his immigration papers we found out he has FIV. The vet said if we could not take him he would have to be euthanized so as not to endanger other cats. I had just rescued a cat in September and she is FIV negative so I could not adopt him myself and my friend has 3 FIV negative cats, so we posted him on Rescue Me! and got several inquiries. Since we could not make international calls we didn't know for sure if anyone could take him but we had enough responses to feel sure we could find him a home when we returned. We drove him from New Jersey to Pennsylvania on Mother's Day to meet his new family and I couldn't be happier for him. He is such a sweet cat he deserves a kind and loving home, thank you for helping us find him that! - Andrea 'Saving one pet won't change the world, but surely, the world will change for that one pet.' -unknown

Thank you, Jeff. I want to let you know that our Siamese has been adopted. Someone must be looking down from above - last week we found the nicest lady, who is a very spry 77 years old and a retired PhD English Literature Professor. She is VERY well educated (oh my!) and has had 3 Siamese in the past. Her last cat was a Tabby who had been left at 5 months old in the desert with a bowl of food....some people! Anyway, a rescue group found the kitten before the coyotes did and she adopted her and named her 'Chou' (pronounced like shoe and is French for Sweetheart)... she had Chou for 13 years - just had to put her down a few weeks ago as she had terminal renal failure coupled with Thyroid problems. She was heartbroken and really in need of a new companion. Our daughter and I 'interviewed' her here at our house when she came to meet Coco and then she invited us to come see where Coco would be living in the future right then and there... her condo is gorgeous (I'd live in it any day) with a beautiful view of the mountains. We decided that it 'just felt right' and Coco went to her new home last Saturday....it didn't take long for Coco to sniff her way around and find just the right spot to lay down... yes, I cried - but in the end it's a win-win-win-win for all - a win for the lady who now has a new companion, a win for Coco as she has an older lady who will dote on her, a win for our cat who now no longer is afraid of what might be around the corner and a win for Dave and me as our life now returns to 'normal.' I will check in with her in about a week & hope and pray that all continues to go well for both. Sandra Vaosdall

I had a wonderful experience. Several people responded quickly, the but I felt the first one was the most optimal match. They were a wonderful family in Ottawa, about two hours from my house. We spent a good two weeks getting to know each other online and figuring out whether our 'pet values' were a good match. When we finally met, it was a good feeling that we both had that Blondie would be at home with them. Being Blondie, she quickly made herself at home with them. They are huge Siamese lovers so I feel certain that Blondie will happily live the rest of her days with them.

Hello Jeff, Thank you so much for your service. I was able to find Josie a wonderful home with a family in Sacramento due to your site. Due to frequent travel obligations with my job, Josie would often be alone for long stretches and was starved for attention. Fortunately she was adopted by a family that is very patient and will provide an atmosphere where she will thrive. They found her using Rescue Me! Thank you again, Matt Prigmore

Hello Jeff, Thank you very much, Rescue Me! was instrumental in my finding Jax, what I believe, will be a wonderful new home!! I was under time constraints, as I am leaving the state tomorrow, and Rescue Me! provided the opportunity of not only having one possible fantastic home for him, but two to choose from. I am very appreciative and relieved. I love Jax and hated to have to give him up, but I take care of my 89 year old Mother that has dementia, and it was no longer a safe environment for Jax. Thank you again for creating a resourceful and loving opportunity for animal loved ones to have continuous wonderful homes with people that really care! Dortha Churchill

Thank you for your note. Metoo was adopted. I received a response from someone who had requested to receive alerts regarding Siamese. She wrote to me within 24 hours of my post! I didn't retrieve my email for 3 days, but we spoke and a arranged a meeting the next day. It was important to me that my mother's cat would move to the right home; after all, I had given her the cat 10 years earlier and felt sad that she could no longer care for her. Our active home and busy lifestyle did not suit this delicate Siamese who had lived a very quiet life so far. It helped that the woman interested in her told me her 'story' -her interest in adoption, experience with cats and lifestyle. We met for nearly two hours (the three of us) which made me comfortable with the decision. I had not committed to make the 'move' that day as I wanted to leave us both the option to 'sleep on it' before making this important decision. I was very fortunate that we found each other! I am so comfortable with my decision. I wish everyone the best with their adoptions. Feel free to use any or none of my words on your site!. All the best, Robin Secord

Hello Mr. Gold, Our Ozzie was adopted this past Sunday. I'd forgotten about my classified on your website, as I'd placed it a while back. I'd tried every cat rescue in Northern CA that I could find online and had no luck, as they were all filled to capacity with kittens! I'd tried friends that I trusted, that liked cats, but everyone already had too many cats. So when I received the phone call last week inquiring about Ozzie, I was surprised. As it turned out he was needed to be a companion to a lonely disabled vet. He was welcomed with opened arms into his new home and is being spoiled rotten! I am SO happy and relieved my sweet Ozzie has found a nice family to love and spoil him as he deserves. Thank you for your organization/website for it was very successful for us! Maggie Bonilla

Hi, I had a very successful adoption for my Siamese kitty. It couldn't have gone any better. This wonderful lady drove 10 hours all the way from western KY to Raleigh NC to pick up the little guy this evening. She had to pay for 2 hotel stays along the way. We exchanged many many informative emails before this and I felt very confident that she would give him a wonderful and forever home. She shared everything about her life, her job, her home, where he would sleep. She wanted to buy the same food, get the same watering bowl, and bond with him the best way she could. I think he is in excellent hands. We met at her hotel this evening and spent an hour and a half just chatting and she got to know him and got him settled and he was comfortable with her when I left. She promised plenty of updates about his new spoiled life! I don't mind you posting my comments, no problem! This has been a wonderful site. I had no luck finding the perfect appropriate home for him through Craigslist or word of mouth or just locally. Your site gave me the perfect home for him! Nicole

Jeff, I personally want to thank you for providing me with the opportunity to find Bambi, who was abandoned and nearly starved to death a loving new home. Thanks to you the worst of Bambi's life is behind her and she has a loving family who immediately took to her and Bambi took to them. The family who adopted her had lost their cat of many years and were looking to find another when they came across Bambi. The husband said who adopted Bambi...When I die I want to come back as a cat at my house! I know that Bambi has been Blessed with the loving family that she so deserves. She will provide them with as much love as they will provide her with. My heart smiled when I seen them pull away and a tear of thankfulness filled my eye. Thank you Bambi for letting me know you and thanks again Rescue Me...Thanks Jeff, you have done good :) in the world. Sandy Long Camden, SC

The last, of course, decided excitedly to add him to their home. We did extensive background checks to make sure he was being placed in a good environment. We know that he is enjoying life with his new family now. They travelled from their home in Michigan to ours in Columbus, Ohio to pick him up. Bucky was listed on the web site for about 6 weeks.      Jeff, it has been the most wonderful experience! I found Mickey on RescueMe.org and wondered who would adopt a 17 year old cat. I used to work for a vet and practiced nursing for 25 years. I thought I was well qualified. Sure, everyone wants a kitten or puppy, but these older animals are amazing. He couldn't be more wonderful. It was tough for the owners to surrender him, but it was that or euthanasia. The previous owner got him vet checked. We talked on the phone about him several times and sent several emails. My daughter and I are just so excited. He is acclimating to us quickly. The previous owner's daughter asked her mom if they could come and visit him. I said 'Sure, we are only two hours away.' Mickey loves going up and down the stairs. He hung around in the kitchen today while I cooked. I talk to him a lot and sometimes he answers. I am letting him come to me, rather than going to him. He has got to learn that I am trustworthy. Like I told his previous owner, his whole world has been turned upside down, and he has to get used to this world. And he is doing it. Many thanks for having RescueMe.Org. My daughter, Mickey, and I thank you. Respectfully, Marguerite Lamb
